A young girl rushed in and said, panting, “Daddy, quick! Give me money. A poor old man is outside.”
“Great! You have compassion, huh? Does he ask for any handout? Does he say anything?”
“Yes, he says ‘Ice cream! Nice ice cream!’”
[译注] 一个年轻女孩冲进来喘着气说：「爹爹，快！给我钱。外面有个可怜的老人。」 「好棒！你有同情心唷？他有要求施舍吗？他有说什么吗？」 「是的，他说『冰淇淋！好吃的冰淇淋！』」
注：compassion (同情)， panting (喘着气)， handout (施舍)。
