It was a huge hall of the castle of Gladsheim, in Asgärd.   It had 540 doors, through each of which 800 men could march abreast.   The Einherjar, i.e., the heroes selected for their prowess to fight and die at Ragnarok, came and feasted there.   Every night they caroused, and every day they hacked and hewed each other in battle so that they might keep in trim.  Miraculously, they were all restored to wholeness at the end of each day's carnage.

     Gladsheim 是北欧神话中众神的居所。该大厅是 Odin 的大厅。
