She was daughter of Priam, king of Troy.   In wooing her, Apollo promised to give her the gift of prophecy.   But she refused his advances.  Apollo, therefore, added the decree that no one would ever believe her prophecies.   Thus, she warned her countrymen against the Wooden Horse, but her warning went unheeded.
