[J-162] The Termites 白 蚁
A person asked his friend to come over for a bite. But he kept his friend waiting a long while in the dining-hall while he himself ate surreptitiously in the kitchen before he sent out the tasty dishes he had prepared. When the guest saw the case, he shouted out loudly, “Oh, my gosh, what a nice hall! But how the termites have decayed the pillars!”
Hearing it, the host rushed out of the kitchen and asked, “Where? Where do you find the termites?”
“I don't see them. But I know they're eating there, right inside there!” In saying so, the friend pointed in the direction of the kitchen purposely.
[译注] 某人邀朋友过来吃便饭。但他让朋友在餐厅中等候很久，他自己则偷偷地在厨房里先吃他做好而还没端出的好菜。当客人看到那情形时，便大声喊出：「噢，我的天哪！多么好的厅堂啊！可是白蚁已经把柱子啃得多么烂啊！」
听到那话时，主人便冲出厨房而问说：「哪里啊？ 你在哪里看到白蚁呀？」
「我没看见。但我知道它们在哪里啃，就在里面那里呀！」说那样时，这位朋友还故意指向厨房。
注：for a bite (为吃便饭)，a long while (= a long time)， surreptitiously (秘密地)，prepare tasty dishes (做好吃的菜)，my gosh (= my God)，decay (啃蚀、蛀蚀)，in the direction of ... (往...的方向)。
