A polite Chinese bumped into an American in a crowded downtown area. The polite Chinese immediately apologized, “I'm sorry, sir.”
“I'm sorry, too,” blurted the American.
In order not to be outdone by the American in good manners, the Chinese quickly said, “I'm sorry, three.”
[译注] 一个有礼的中国人在拥挤的城中心地区撞到一位美国人。那有礼的中国人立刻道歉说：「先生，我对不起！」
「我也对不起，」那个美国人冲口说出。
