[J-61] Three Nonagenarians
Three sisters lived under the same roof. They were all nonagenarians: the eldest 96, the second 94, the youngest 92. One night, the eldest put one of her feet into a bathtub, stopped there, and then inquired: “Am I stepping in or stepping out?”
The second sister heard the question. She said, “Let me see.” Then she started to walk downstairs. But she had just moved a step when she herself asked, “Am I going up or going down?”
The youngest sister was in the kitchen, and she heard both questions. She tapped on a table and thought how forgetful her sisters were. Then she said, “I'm coming! But wait, let me see who's knocking the door.”
注: under the same roof (在同一屋内), nonagenarian (九十岁或九十几岁者), bathtub (浴盆、浴缸), tap (轻敲)。
