[J-61]   Three Nonagenarians

Three sisters lived under the same roof.  They were all nonagenarians: the eldest 96, the second 94, the youngest 92.  One night, the eldest put one of her feet into a bathtub, stopped there, and then inquired: Am I stepping in or stepping out?

The second sister heard the question.  She said, Let me see.  Then she started to walk downstairs.  But she had just moved a step when she herself asked, Am I going up or going down?

The youngest sister was in the kitchen, and she heard both questions.  She tapped on a table and thought how forgetful her sisters were.  Then she said, I'm coming! But wait, let me see who's knocking the door.

注: under the same roof (在同一屋内) nonagenarian (九十岁或九十几岁者) bathtub (浴盆、浴缸) tap (轻敲)
