[J-70]   Missed Nothing?

That day I had intended to go and watch football.  But my wife said I had to stay home and help entertain her guests.  So I stayed home and entertained her guests by talking and eating lunch with them.  But the football game could not leave my mind.  So, while drinking coffee, I turned on the TV.  A few minutes later, my wife asked, Well, what's the score now?

  Nothing to zero, I said.

That means you've missed nothing, doesn't it?  My wife stressed her point with no tone of apology.

注: had intended to V had meant to V (曾打算要…) entertain (招待、取悦) score (得分、比分) naught =  nil =  zero () miss (错过、误了) stress (强调) apology (抱歉)。
