She was daughter of Minos and sister of Phaedra.
She fell in love with Theseus at first sight when he and other young victims were
paraded to the Labyrinth to be devoured by the Minotaur. With a ball
of thread to give him the clue, she helped Theseus escape from the Labyrinth after
he battered the monster to death. Theseus had promised to marry her,
