唸音

He was the Norse god of evil and destruction.   He was only a jotun (Frost Giant) by birth, but Odin adopted him as a blood brother and so he became one of the Aesir (gods).  He sired Fenrir (the terrible wolf that will swallow the sun) and Hel (queen of the dead). For many evil deeds he was bound in a cave by the other gods.   They set over him a serpent from whose jaws there dripped a poisonous venom.   When the venom fell on his face, it caused him frightful pain.   But most of the time the venom was caught in a cup by his faithful wife Signe, who watched over him.   However, when she turned aside to empty the cup, the venom would fall on him and he would writhe with such violent anguish that it caused earthquakes.
