A traveler was staying at an inn. At midnight he was awakened by a strange sound. Then he was frightened to find a thief in his room ready to nip his valuables. In consternation, he cried out, “Help! Someone's in here! Somebody's in here!”
The innkeeper was told the situation. He immediately sent a chambermaid to the room. The chambermaid advised the traveler seriously: “Get him out at once! Or you'll have to pay double tomorrow.”
