[J-165] What a Fart? 什么个屁啊？
A man of wealth was entertaining two guests at home when he accidentally farted. On hearing the fart, one of the guests commented, “How it does resound! Can a fife do that?” The other guest also wanted to ingratiate himself with the rich man. So, when he smelled the fart, he added, “And what an exotic fragrance! Does a fawn have it?”
But the host was not quite pleased. He said, “They say a resounding fart that does not stink means ill health. Am I losing my health now?”
Upon hearing this, the first guest rejoined at once, “But I referred to your speaking tone.” And the second guest, still fawning likewise, added, “And I referred to your fruit.”
[译注] 一个富翁正在家里款待两位客人，那时他碰巧放了屁。一听到那个屁，客人之一便评论说：「那是多么响啊！笛子办得到吗？」另一个客人也想要巴结那有钱人，所以当他闻到那个屁时，他补充说：「而多么奇异的香味啊？小鹿有那个气味吗？」
可是，这位主人并没有很高兴。他说：「据说不臭的响屁表示身体不好，我现在在丧失健康吗？」
一听到这个，第一个客人立刻响应：「我指的是你的说话音调。」而第二个客人一样还在奉承着，便补说：「而我指你的水果。」
