A science girl was displeased with her boy friend, and was giving vent to her displeasure by calling him names: “You are no better than what you are. You are a simple unicellular creature, a sort of green algae floating nowhere, a slow-moving worm, a destructive pest pretending to be odorous, a monkey proud of its mouth-tip, a man most awful even in dreams ....” Without waiting to hear everything, the boy protested: “Do you mean I'm really a sheer good-for-nothing? Can't you just allow me to possess one good point?” “Your best point is,” the girl allowed, “you show stable evolution, just as shown in the pile of names you have deserved.”
