[J-199] A Memory Stick 记忆条
Soon after Sony launched its first memory sticks in 1998, a computernik asked some of his friends: “Can you guess what a memory stick is?” One of his friends answered, “I think it is a dry stick that has fallen off a tree and entered your memory by hitting your head accidentally.” Another answered, “I guess it is a stick a person walks with and will cherish in memory of the one that has sent it as a gift.” A third answered, “It must be a lipstick a boy sends a girl on a day of memory.” At this, a fourth rejoined him doubtfully, “Can't it be a stick of chocolate or chewing gum instead?” Finally, the computernik said, “Sorry, I must give all of you some stick if you stick to your old vocabulary.” Then he showed his friends some memory sticks to let them know that in computerese a memory stick is a removable flash memory card format. And he added a comment: “All these memory sticks will stick in your memory, won't they?”
