Vivian is a
vegetarian. She often says, “I am really vegetarian. I never eat any meat, no matter
whether it is red meat or white meat, fat meat or lean meat, tender meat or tough
meat, hot meat or cold meat.” Once, however, her bosom friend Betty accused
her of lying: “The
other day I did see you munching a kind of meat.” “Munching a kind of meat? What was it?” Vivian asked indignantly. “The meat of a walnut, or maybe the meat of
a hazelnut.”
