In the cemetery, an American observed a Chinese putting several platters of food in front of the tombstone as a sacrifice to his deceased relatives. The American went forward and asked: “When do you think your folks will come up to eat your food?”
“About the same time when your folks come up to smell your flowers,” answered the Chinese.
[译注] 在墓园里,有个美国人观看到一个中国人放着几盘食物在墓碑前当祭品祭拜他死去的亲戚。这个美国人走向前去问说:「你想你的亲人什么时候会上来吃你的食物呢?」
「跟你们的亲人上来闻你们的花大约是同一个时候吧。」那个中国人回答。
