[J-4]   Parasol and High-heeled Shoes

Lady A:  My husband is like my parasol.  I hold him high and stretch him as big as possible when we are out.  I use him to keep off the sun.  But at home I naturally shut him up and keep him in a small, dark corner.

Lady B:  Mine is like my high-heeled shoes.  I strut around on him and make him creak and clatter under me when we are out.  But at home I shine him up and treasure him in my chosen closet.

stretch (展开) shut up (合起,使闭嘴) strut (神气地走) creak (吱吱叫) clatter (咯啦叫) shine (擦亮) treasure (珍藏,宝贝) closet (橱,小室)
