Though she had never had much truck with doctors, my aunt got through the examination and treatment pretty well. As she was leaving, the physician said, “I'd like to see you again in two weeks.” She kept the appointment, but was indignant at the end of the month to find the doctor had charged her for both visits.
“The second one was your idea,” she told him over the phone. “You wanted to see me.”
[译注] 虽然她跟医生没有过多少往来，我姑妈还是相当好地完成检查和治疗。当她要离开时，医生说：「两周后，我想再看看你。」她遵守约定，可是月底时非常愤怒，因为发觉医生两次看诊都向她索取费用。
「第二次是你的主意，」她在电话上告诉他，「是你要看我的。」
