A bride was shy about asking her husband for money. “Jack, dear,” she said at breakfast, “Will you lend me 100 dollars but only give me half of it?”
“Of course, darling,” said her husband, “but why only half of it?”
“Well, then you'll owe me 50 dollars and I'll owe you 50 dollars, and we'll be square, won't we?”
