[J-91]   Question-Begging Legs

        引发问题的腿

An elderly farm couple visited New York for the first time.  A particular sight seemed to interest the old gentleman most.  His wife finally exclaimed, John, the way you stare at these city women is something scandalous.  A body'd think you'd never seen legs before.

Well, do not blame me, John mused.  Legs do not beg so many questions in our place.

[译注]

「哎,别怪我,」约翰沉思地说。「在我们的地方,腿不会引发那么多问题的。」

注: elderly (上年纪的) sight (光景) scandalous (可耻的,会闹丑闻的) A body'd = A person would  blame (责备,怪罪) muse (沉思,沈思地说) beg questions (引发问题,引人遐思)
